Father's Day weekend is over and back to work tomorrow. Sigh. Becky and I spent all day on Friday at the mall because she needed new clothes, and I ended up buying about 6 times as much as her. I did get some awesome t-shirts though, adding to my count of ONE.
Saturday was a glorious day: I invented a delicious recipe. Okay, not really, but I modified the ingredients in this
Russian Honey Cake and created a masterpiece. A masterpiece, I tell you!! I made 3 layers of this honey dough that you actually roll out and tastes a bit like graham crackers, then spread melted honey and butter, a honey and mascarpone cheese mix, and sugared strawberries on each layer. It didn't take long (you cook each layer for 5 minutes, the assembly took most of my time) and it's freaking delicious. Here's the turnout:
I also was looking up
Silence of the Lambs and
Hannibal for some reason (
Blitzen Trapper->songs about serial killers->famous killers->Hannibal Lecter->holy crap, Gary Oldman was in the second move?!?->to YouTube!) and today I rented the original from Blockbuster because I've never seen it. I really liked it, Hannibal definitely deserves his
#1 spot on the list of most memorable villains (or near #1 on other lists). My mom thought I was crazy but
No Country for Old Men is on my top 10 so it shouldn't have surprised her.
