2 posts within 2 days? I must be in the Twilight Zone...

Saw The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus this weekend with Becky, Libby and Corey. It's about a guy who makes a deal with the devil for eternal life, and now is trying to save his daughter's (Valentina) soul from him as well. Heath Ledger did a great job, but I was really surprised about the performances Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell gave as the alternate versions of Tony. Awesome! I will say it's one of the only movies that I wasn't constantly thinking through...I was along for the ride and my mind didn't wander for an instant, which is saying something. And dang if Valentina (model Lily Cole) didn't look just like someone I know...hrm, I wonder who?

Other than that, nothing else is new. Work is like a cheese grater on my soul, I'm rereading my favorite series of all time (Shannara series by Terry Brooks), trying but failing to lose some weight, looking forward to the interesting movies coming out (Alice in Wonderland, The Wolfman, etc.). Also, a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is due out next year. Huh.

Sea Wolf is my new awesome discovery. Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover, er, title! At first I wrote him off as more lame indie stuff, but when I listened to the lyrics, the songs just came together. Reminds me a bit of Patrick Wolf with his storytelling and I love it. Like walking through an English forest... Also, he looks like Mr. Weasley. Hey, it's that chick who named her kid Audio Science!
