This weekend was pretty fun! Becky, Libby and I went and saw Up (which was super good), I found a fawn in the field, I got an awesome new band, and read lots of manga. Yay!
Up was such a good movie! An old man loses his wife and then goes on the journey he promised he'd take her on when they were kids. This fat little Asian kid named Russel goes with him on accident and lots of hilarity ensues. It was sooo good. We laughed out loud a ton and I had to figh the tears at least two times. The first is when they show hislife to the point where his wife dies through a few minutes of flashbacks, and the second is when he's going through her photo album at the end by himself and he's almost crying. There were also a ton of funny parts, like the parts with the dogs who had collars that translated what they were thinking, and ever 30 seconds they'd freeze and go "squirrel!" Super good movie!!!
That's the difference between Dreamworks and Disney/Pixar. In Disney/Pixar movies, adults and kids can laugh at the same things and they're genuinely funny, just innocently so. In Dreamworks movies, they make retarded jokes that only a 5-year-old would laugh at, and then a thinly veiled sexual joke that goes over a kid's head. Don't get me wrong, I think Shrek is hilarious, but seriously Dreamworks, that's the best you can do? It's animated so even if you make a dirty joke it's still considered a kids' movie? Retards.
Last night my mom, dad, and Libby went and visited my Uncle Stanley, who is in the hospital. He has stomach and breathing problems (emphysema) and I guess they thought he wasn't going to survive Saturday night. I'm hoping they'll go back and I'll see him soon, he's been doing poorly for a while now.
Then I went for a walk with Red and saw two deer on the hill by the woods on our farm. Red actually saw them (she never sees anything but birds and squirrels) and took off across the field. The grass is so high though that she can't see where she's going, so she disappears for a few seconds and boings up out of the grass to check her bearings. So funny! Anywho I went up there and on my way down the hill I stopped to mess with my iPod. I saw something out of the corner of my eye...and I was two feet from a fawn! It was about the size of a cat and curled up in a little ball. Soooooo cute!!!!!! I didn't touch it but got really close and it's eyes were open and it was watching me. I wanted to pet it but the mother deer was on the other side of the brush so I decided it was best not ot incur her wrath...luckily Red didn't find it! I doubt she would have hurt it but it probably would have freaked and I'd rather not be trampled by an angry doe.
Then I downloaded some music last night, including some stuff by Cash Cash. I swear I downloaded an album of theirs before and didn't like it...but the songs last night were freaking awesome!!! "Dynamite" was my favorite, but "Cash Cash" (they named a song after their band? Really?) was super catchy too. I'm addicted to getting new music! And my iPod is full! Argh!! I have to get a new one with bigger memory...to Amazon!!
...and that was my oh-so-fun weekend! Wow, so much writing, I won't blame you if you skip a ton. ;)
