Summer is turning to autumn! That means new music. My music taste changes as the seasons do, don't ask. :)

I just can't get over my LastFM binge...I downloaded a bunch of albums and am still doing so right now. I found some weird ass crap!! A whole ton of bands went right into the recycle bin but there were a few good ones left over. You have to sift through the tripe to get the candy, my friend. ;)

BUMP OF CHICKEN - an indie-sounding band, but listening to them makes me think of sitting in the back of a pick up truck with some locals playing guitar. Nothing country but still, I just get that homey, traveling vibe. Really catchy alternative poprock. This guy just has a really beautiful voice in the "sing me to sleep" sort of way.

Nookicky - What the hell is this? Seriously, the guy has an annoying voice, the music sounds like Oingo Boingo raped Smashing Pumpkins and then downed a bottle of sleeping pills, and yet I can't stop listening to it. It's totally a 'walking down the street in October' band.

Merry - Old band but I'm renewing my love for them! Plus I think the lead singer Gara is f-ing sexy (guy on the far right) and has a super passionate voice. It's like walking into a rainy late-night blues club with smoke in the air and everyone's swing dancing or tapping their feet. Their songs all have a melancholy vibe to them and you can't tell if Gara is about to start headbanging or crying. Love them! ♥

MUCC - If you suck the fun and uniqueness out of Merry, you get MUCC. Ugh, more garbage...

LONG SHOT PARTY - More indie alternative/ska stuff. You can almost hear the guy smiling as he sings. Going down to the beach at sunset for a picnic/luau. Would like them better if there wasn't a dam ass saxophone in half their songs. Right in the trash with those. XD

Bice - breathy alternative pop/indie. Some catchy stuff so I'm going to look into her other albums...totally makes me want to sleep. Might be a little too subdued for me. -_-

The Candy Spooky Theater - I'll be the first to admit I listen to some weird shit. But holy fuck. These guys are messed. They even said they base their music on a Tim Burton-esque, "comical party" feel. Listening to these guys is like taking a trip to an insane goth carnival. I like their sounds but they use a weird "throw some shit together and sing over it out of sync" style that is annoying.

LISA - more techno pop, electronic stuff. It's pretty much the only kind of music I listen to that I'd prefer a woman be singing. Half in Japanese and half in English, I confused this with Europop at first. Sounds like music you'd hear at a store at the mall.

Woohoo, it's Friday tomorrow!!! Andy's gone for the weekend and both Becky and I have been hankering to watch some Last Exile. I don't know why but I've had the urge to watch that show for over a week now. Must...watch...crotch...in...face... (lol funny scene where a guy gets thrown into another guy and somehow his crotch ends up in his face).

"And don’t get me wrong, the PV is totally amusing in a What the Hell am I watching sort of way. I don’t usually expect to see Idols get mowed down a la the Saint Valentine’s Day massacre and then revive because they apparently bleed chocolate." - hello!girl blog
