Fruits Basket and Labyrinth Manga

Looking into the Labyrinth book, which doesn't exist (sadly), I found that a manga had been made out of it, just recently in 2007. 2 of the 4 volumes are already out, and at looking at the covers for Volume 1 and Volume 2 I was really excited!
But then I saw that the cover art was done by a professional Japanese manga artist, and the rest of the story is drawn by a 12-year-old American boy. Okay, not really, but it looks like it. I was so freaking disappointed!!! Foiled again!
On a lighter note...WOOT my first Amazon purchase in months, and it's Fruits Basket volume 18! YAAAAY!!! Actually, I bought it a while ago, but it just came now! XD

It's about a girl named Tohru who gets caught up in the lives of the Sohma family, some of who are cursed by the zodiac. The 12 cursed turn into their respective animals when they are hugged by someone of the opposite sex. As the series progresses, the curse becomes less and less of a laughing matter. This is especially true for Kyo, who is cursed by the cat and not really a zodiac member so he's ostracized from the family. He desperately wants to be a part of it, but the other members hate him because they hate it and can't escape. Eventually, they start solving their own problems and the curse breaks on them one by one, freeing them from Akito, the "god" of the zodiac members who has physically and mentally abused each of them.
I'm way too obsessed with this manga, but it's so great! It goes from hilarious to depressing to heartwarming every other page, it's like the emo trip from Heaven. :)
My favorite part though is that in the end, EVERYONE ends up with somebody. Even the bad person turns good in the end and ends up with someone. It just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside ^_^
Oooh...I'm making truffles again! But this time I loaded them with a ton of crap, including rum extract, sake, nutmeg, cinnamon, and chili powder. It'll be like eating a Mexican bomb, huzzah!
